BASIC FUNCTION
The QC Mechanical Engineer is a mid-level position who is a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer or Construction Supervisor with extensive experience with mechanical installation and working knowledge of electrical installation. The QC Mechanical Engineer is responsible for monitoring the quality of materials, ensuring correct workmanship, and verifying compliance with the construction contract. This role is critical to the successful execution of the project, construction of the thermal treatment plant, and will involve collaboration with various stakeholders, including contractors and project team members. The QC Mechanical Engineer must have a strong grasp and understand the treatment plant design drawings, technical specifications, and approved contract documents. The QC Mechanical Engineer is expected to monitor construction work on site, be familiar with health and safety requirements, and may be requested to assess fabrication shops and material supply.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compliance and Quality Assurance
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor material testing and analyze results for compliance with specifications and industry standards.
• Assist in developing and implementing quality control procedures and best practices.
• Prepare and maintain reports on inspections, tests, and compliance findings.
Inspections and Monitoring
• Conduct inspections of mechanical and electrical components to verify quality and adherence to industry standards.
• Monitor the installation of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure workmanship meets established standards and regulations.
• Inspect machinery and electrical systems to identify and report errors for contractor correction.
• Conduct periodic inspections of contractor maintenance work on machinery to enhance lifespan and efficiency.
• Monitor processing, testing, and installation at the factory and construction site to identify errors promptly.
• Monitor treatment plant operations and assist with problem-solving during operation phase.
Collaboration and Communication
• Collaborate with contractors to address issues related to material quality or workmanship.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise to stakeholders.
• Draft weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the client as directed by the supervisor.
Risk Management and Safety
• Identify potential risks and propose solutions for mechanical and electrical components.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and best practices.
Support
• Mentor junior staff to foster continuous improvement and professional development.
• Support commissioning troubleshooting and monitor initial operations of the treatment plant.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor/manager to support A&E II project activities and objectives.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction supervision/management with demonstrated experience installing mechanical / electrical components, or related discipline
• Class 1 or 2 certification from relevant authority.
• Minimum of ten years of mechanical engineering construction supervision / installation of mechanical electrical systems.
• Knowledge of materials used in the processing and installation of mechanical products, as well as expertise in mechanical processing technology and installation techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required.
• Working knowledge and experience using AutoCAD a plus
• Electrical Engineering skills and background is considered a plus but not requirement.
• Proficiency in Vietnamese and English (writing, reading and speaking) is required.

• Ability to identify non-conformance issues and communicate issue clearly
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and construction methods related to thermal treatment plants or similar facilities.
• Ability to read and understand detail mechanical drawings
• Proven experience in quality control and assurance processes in construction projects.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficient in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
